Projects - in development Glimpses - The film series A series of six short (25 min.) independent films on an artistic theme - each film focusing on a different artist or performer. My goal with this film series is to provide the viewer with a Glimpse into another culture, an artform and/or performance style, through the lens of one person’s story. Currently in development - Chapter 1: Cantonese Opera (2025 Release) Chapter 2: A filmmaker's passion for dance. - a glimpse into one person's passion for their artform, culture, heritage and their own journey. Pilot episode: Using narration, music, silent film, animation, and photographs - we enter the filmmaker's individual rhythm, discovering a love of movement and gesture in Commedia dell'Arte and music. Pilot episode Theatre - Multi-media Colombina - A multi-tiered project that seeks to add value to and push the boundaries of the artform: An interactive project melding theatre, film & different time periods and formats together. The audience is encouraged to join and share their own stories. Under-represented Stories: Colombina, a silent film star / servant, intertwines her own life stories from the early 20th century. Stories include women she met who worked in early film as editors, directors, producers, and some unusual professions, even bootlegging. The audience is invited to share their own stories. The show shifts between time and place, stage and audience. The work is performed on a minimalist set, in English and Italian. Excuse the quality of the video. It's a little rough! My Story Hello from the East Coast of Canada! Where I seem to be currently living and working as a multi-lingual instructor, translator, and an actor, director, writer an producer of independent film an theatre. Thank you for stopping by! Compelling and engaging Photo: https://www.facebook.com/CrystalClearShots/ A bit about me: As the first born in Canada of a Northern Italian/German family, growing up in Ontario and Quebec we spoke English at home, French at school, and Italian with my grandparents. As a child I could be found with my nose glued to a tv/film screen watching early films (1880’s - 1940’s), reading the classics, or geekily conducting Beethoven’s Fifth in our basement. As a teenager, I practically spent my life on our high-school stage. After degrees and training in music, theatre, dance, history, archaeology and interdisciplinary studies, like many, I find my life has been like a dish of noodles - full of twists and turns. Though at times quite tasty, things have not turned out exactly as expected. In these noodle-like twists and turns, life has offered new experiences and a wide variety of skills; working in everything from Event management, creating workshops, catering, independent bookstores, to Federal Government and somehow, 15 years in national museums. I've also worked in film and theatre; as an actor, movement coach, assistant director, production assistant, and ... the list goes on. In addition to creating and performing my own shows. Yet, still I only dabbled - mainly out of fear - never taking a full commitment, plunging into the work. A major U-Turn moment came when I attended the International W orkshop for the Comic Actor, led by Mae stro A. Fava.
